September 20th marked the official launch of Giga-Mint — a platform built to make NFT creation simple, safe, and personal.

Whether you’re here out of curiosity, looking to preserve a milestone, or exploring new ways to engage your audience, I want to share the story of how Giga-Mint began — and why I believe it can change the way you think about NFTs.

The Maze of NFT Creation

Not too long ago, I set out to create my first NFT — not to flip it or make money, but simply to understand the process. I’m naturally curious (especially about tech), and I wondered, What is this all about?

What followed was… a maze.

I bounced from site to site just trying to find the “Create” button. Nothing was straightforward. I had to:

  • Figure out what a crypto wallet was and how to create one (with almost no clear instructions)
  • Choose a blockchain — each requiring a different wallet
  • Connect that wallet to a platform (hoping it would work)
  • Fund the wallet with crypto, which meant buying the right currency — and to do that, I had to connect my wallet to a credit card or bank account, which can seem risky in a space you’re not familiar with
  • Deal with crypto volatility, awkward interfaces, and no safety net

Only after all that could I mint an NFT. And even then, many platforms assumed I wanted to sell it. They asked:

  • What royalty percentage do you want?
  • What’s the title of your collection?
  • Who’s the buyer?

On some platforms, I didn’t even get to keep the NFT — it was minted straight into their marketplace, listed for resale, and technically no longer mine.

But I didn’t want to be a seller.

I just wanted to take a photo — something meaningful to me — and turn it into a permanent NFT. Something mine.

And that’s when the idea hit me: There has to be a better way — and maybe I could build it.
